What wiccan supply Houses Contain
In the normal course of a Catholic Church’s religious activities, a number of supplies are needed and used regularly, such as communion wine and wafers, robes, and other things. Some supply stores specialize in these items and priests will shop from time to time to replenish used items. This is no different for the Wiccan practitioner and in many ways, for Wiccan a supply store is even more important. The practice of wicca as a religion requires a number of supplies that are used on a regular basis and perishable. The permanent items such as robes and tools or magickial instruments are of course supplied and wiccans will purchase new ones from time to time for different purposes. Perishable items like incense and herbs are required more frequently and most Wiccans will have a supplier that they like and trust to provide them with these needed items.
Wiccan Supply & Rituals
There is a greater complexity to wiccan ritual than in other religions and as a result the diversity and quantity of supplies that a regularly practicing wiccan will need is greater. There is a far greater diversity of items that can be included in wiccan ceremonies.
- Various crystals can be used to attract or concentrate spiritual energy. The famous crystal ball is often used to increase spiritual perception; however crystals in other shapes are important as well, such as the pyramid.
- Oils, incense, herbs are used on a regular basis.
- Tea is popular among Wiccans as a means of focusing energy; a certain tea will be thought to have a similar value as a certain incense or oil and may be made from the same basic ingredients or herbs. This allows the practitioner to carry the rite over into daily life or to use the tea in the ceremonial act.
- Robes are featured in Wiccan supply houses and are popular for more than just serious practice. Wiccans are much more public about their beliefs and will dress the part with hooded, full length robes as a fashion item.
- Other fashion items include boots and tunics.
The wiccan altar is a very sacred and individual place. Each practitioner creates their own and crafts it to their individual beliefs and desires. Some will be heavily Goddess-oriented and the types of supplies and ritual objects will reflect that. For others their altar will be very Celtic and nature oriented and hence very different. This individualization means that Wiccan supply houses must keep a wide variety of items in stock to satisfy the needs of their Wiccan clients.
With the recent growth of Wicca and the greater tolerance and openness toward Wicca, the Internet is host to many large supply houses and they have large lists of regular customers. This has made a great difference in the variety and quality of supplies available. There are also a lot of very nice, decorative items as well that have become popular with non-wiccans such a dragon incense holders or clothing items which have driven the market as well.
